The beginning of September gave us the opportunity to do a whistle-stop tour of some of our family and friends down south. Amazingly all of this went ahead despite the fact that I managed to cancel the wrong week of holidays that I had booked off from work – (sorry to mess everybody around!!!).<\/p>\n

A quick blast down the M1 finds us at Uncle Jeffs in Southgate (Underground station below), Oscar decides that the journey down is entirely forgettable and stays asleep until we leave the motorway – probably a very wise decision. Lottie is very impressed by the leather sofa climbing frame in the living room, and the Fig strewn back garden.<\/p>\n

Scuttling under the River Thames through the Blackwall Tunnel gets us to Gran’s, on the edge of Blackheath.<\/p>\n

Oscar arrived in a very relaxed mood – despite Lottie pressing the Alarm button in the lift on the way up to Great-Gran’s flat.<\/p>\n

Great-Granny seemed to be in fine form, and was surprised at how strong Ozzie was. Grips like a vice, kicks like a mule!!! Then a quick spin round a soggy M25 got us back to Gran’s in Basingstoke just in time for a bit of reading practice.<\/p>\n

Lottie, being the stickler for detail that she is, insisted on checking the small print to make sure that Pocoyo<\/a> was indeed under the sea.<\/p>\n

Reading practice over, we all retired to bed to prepare for entry into Her Majesties County of SurreyShire. So the next day we were off to Hindhead to see the Neilan’s – although we were sorry to have missed David and Sarah – but Marianne, Reuben and Lottie kept everyone amused.<\/p>\n

The Neilan urban farm is a great place for kids to visit! Lottie was very intrigued by the Chickens, and decided that the one thing they needed was a fresh Carrot!- good work Lottie!!<\/p>\n

After leaving the Neilans’, we just had time to pay my old cycling mate Berni, and his wife Jane a visit back in Basingstoke. Berni showed a great deal of skill in keeping Lottie entertained with just a single bouncy ball!!<\/p>\n
