Oscar is now 8 weeks old, and beginning to develop a character all of his own now. We have been so busy with him and Lottie, that I haven’t been taking as many photo’s and video’s as I did when Lottie was born – it’s about time I got my finger out then!!<\/p>\n

We had a little excursion out on Saturday to Deep Hayes Country Park<\/a> near Leek, in the Staffordshire Moorlands.<\/p>\n

It’s a really nice little park, and pretty tucked away<\/a> so it doesn’t get too busy – even on the weekends.<\/p>\n

Everyone has to wait for Lottie<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Lottie loved spotting the Ducks, Birds, one wild Rabbit (underneath a car in the car-park – bizarrely) and the Cows and Horses on the road to the Park.<\/p>\n

She is also equally intrigued by plants – especially anything she can pull out of the ground and eat!!<\/p>\n

Like many of our local Parks, it has a very industrial past. It was originally a reservoir, built in 1848 by the Potteries Waterworks Company to compensate the River Churnet for loss of water in serving the mills downstream, and also to supply water for Hanley, Burslem and Tunstall.
